I hope Suetsugu picks up on the fact that Chihaya got such a low number (despite being the main heroine). I really do hope she spends more time with her development, especially on the karuta side. After the random "super concentration" mode, then the z axis thing (which we never saw again), I'm really disappointed that we are again back to Chihaya's speed (sigh)! It annoys me that the boys get more consistency with their playing (Arata with water and Taichi being a trickster) than the main heroine herself. Anyone have any thoughts about why Chihaya is being compared to waves again and again, first by herself and now by Taichi with card 18? Her bubbly personality is a little bit like waves I guess, she never leaves anyone alone, but keeps coming back to them again and again, despite their refusal/nonchalance regarding karuta.
@kyriem chan - Lol I think its 18, but I could be wrong. In the raw version that I saw, there was a tiny 18 number in the card. That means its poem 18 right?
About card that Taichi showed Chihaya: this is card №18, "Sumi no e". This is one-syllable card. I guess that this card has a plain symbolism here: Taichi took one-syllable card and showed it like "Look Chihaya, I take one-syllable card and you don't. Stop losing". And Chihaya became super-focused after that. But maybe it has some add symbolism (I wonder why these flowers from cover of Vol. 26 appear). I also thought Taichi did that to push Chihaya... I'm not sure though with the cards meaning... Yes, Chiaki chan, the link is already posted in FB...

Thanks biribiri! I didn’t understand what was going on at first in the double page but it sure was dramatic. With spiderlillies and the look on their faces... I was worried actually, “What’s going on with our kids?” Lol But later I thought Taichi was emphisizing the word “yume” (dream) reminding Chihaya why she is there. And after that I’m not really sure but Chihaya talks about Taichi taking the card and she gets motivated (?) I didn’t fully grasped it but the poem looks pretty symbolic. I wonder what Suetsugu meant. There is a bit of sadness there probably And the card being one syllable is also really interesting. It’s really amazing how it can be interpreted in so many ways!

It could be his way of encouraging her but... apart of me hope that's not the case. I mean like someone said...we all know that Chihaya is going to win this game so there really is no need for us to see her in a "distress cause she might lose this tournament" situation that's needed to be cheered on by Taichi again...I was happy to see that she was trying to become independent and doing things on her own without Taichi (like she went to visit Kuma's house for practice).

About symbolism: I don't like discuss it, but I believe that here we have a lot of symbolism. Here the poem:
The waves are gathered On the shore of Sumi Bay, And in the gathered night, When in dreams I go to you, I hide from people's eyes.
Also I am interesting about that flowers that surround Chihaya and Taichi.

im dying from curiosity. What does it mean. It didn’t seem like an intimidating intention from taichi. I think it was his usual encouragement for chihaya. But the poem tho Also has anyone seen the live action movie part three? Was it conclusive on who she will end up with? Where can i watch the movie with subs?

Nice to see everyone in here again. I feel so sad that MAL will be deleting all of our discussions from TAT club (T_T)that was a lot of discussions! a lot of topic and information and all...I really wish we were able to save some of those posts... that was such a waste.
I wonder why she's being compared to wave though... I wonder what does it mean?
Waves are not consistent are they? Inconsistent and unpredictable... it depends on the water, the force, wind etc. Sometimes it's big and sometimes not. If it's too strong it can crush and drown away everything on it's path but if it's not then it can be break.

Ayumi chan, are you sure MAL will delete all our discussions? Oh gosh, we've already been there with MF! This is just too much! I'm happy we are all bit by bit coming here to get some info and discussions...This isn't the first time Chihaya has been linked to waves. I wonder what Taichi is thinking; Looks like somewhere in those Japanese summaries, with google translation, she is thinking she needs to quit playing with speed. I'm also a bit irked with Chihaya, just like Harada and Taichi; Girl better get her act together. Her match just isn't very exciting cause we already know the outcome, so i would really like to see some of her thoughts while playing, see if she really is maturing or still her same old self. I wonder why she thought: "it's allright if he (Taichi) takes the cards. Is she already rooting for one more than the other.... Jolly chan, nice editing!! your our saviour! I spoke with Biribiri chan about making a new place and had already been trying out several solutions that just didn't turn out right, so i'm so happy you were so reactive! Welcome to everyone here, active or lurker, no matter, it's so nice to know now that we actually had so many lurkers, i never was conscious of that! About movie 3, i guess we will only be able to see it once the dvd comes out, which is not the case for now. The only thing I can console you with is a link to the OST of movie 3......if you are craving some of the LIVE ACTION here is a link for the little omakes they made: kissasian.ch/Drama/Chihayafuru-Tsunagu

What do you guys think about Taichi's future? What will happen with his karuta and love life? Thinking about his future makes me anxious... And what I want and what will probably happen are different... I want all the happiness for him, him becoming meijin and ending up with Chihaya. That's not happening lol Arata fans would be mad and Suetsugu would never do that. One of the reasons why I was happy was Taichi doubling Arata's votes Japanese fans were also probably anxious and protective of him like us, voting full strenght Arata becoming meijin seems more probable to me since it's his dream and he promised Suo... (I also find Arata reprimanding Chihaya about having your own dream ironic when he is thinking about his promise to his grandpa most of the time. I know it's quite different since it's still his dream but... It still feels like it's also about another person. Ahhh, not much maybe but resembles it a little bit ) I also don't care about a very possible Arata-Suo match. I love Suo more so I would cheer for him, even when I know he will loose in the end I would be happy for Arata, him achieving his dream but I know I won't cheer for him against Suo. I'm really not eager for the upcoming "He's the boy who's gonna defeat the genius meijin", "He's gonna save the karuta world from this evil meijin", "I can see his grandpa in him", "His flowy karuta" and things like that. Karuta officials and players jeering at Suo while prasing Arata to the heavens... I hope Suetsugu surprises me. I want people to realise Suo for who he is, trying to understand him and recognize his karuta. A Taichi-Suo match would be awesome We would also be more surprised at the outcome. So I think Chihaya will end up with Taichi, there are so many things pointing out to it even when it looks like it's not happening. But I don't want it to happen at the expense of Taichi's karuta potential. I would also really dislike it if it ends up poorly executed. I don't know if you guys read it but in HnR I think that's what happened. I already knew which was the cannon pairing when I started and I liked it more but it's ending left a bad taste in my mouth. (I heard mangaka had to rush the ending so that's probably why. At least we don't have to worry about that since Chihayafuru is the best selling manga in BeLove.) I don't want the same fate for Taichihaya. And when people talk about Taichi "deserving" Chihaya I think: "Does Chihaya "deserve" him though?" Taichi should apologize to Chihaya but if there's going to be a romance there I want Chihaya to be the one who tries this time. Or should Taichi move on from her? And I understand the appeal of Chiarata but I don't see myself shipping it for various reasons. Maybe Suetsugu will go for an open ending or someone completely unexpected or unkown, even when it seems like the "cowardly" thing to do after everthing that happened. What do you guys think?

Hello! I see a lot of old names here. I'm glad you still support Taichi after all these years! I believe that Taichi would be the Meijin this season.

Nice to see that there is a place for us to gather. MAL is appearing to fixing itself, but doing everything so damn slowly..... Raws for the last two chapters www.mediafire.com/file/fqmpm1nnd069pxm/12.zip/filewww.mediafire.com/file/03dhd5q7e653u64/13.rar/fileThere was a very nice scene between Suou and Taichi's mother in chapter 199 - she is trying to read up the rules of karuta, getting pretty frustrated, he introduces himself to her. They talk a bit about the match, Suou says something along the lines of there is just one person out there for everyone for whom we give are able to give everything in order to be accepted by them. For Taichi, Arata is that person, so he is playing at his absolute best. And yet, Suou still doesn't think Taichi would be able to win, despite it all. Mother gets pretty pissed off at that declaration, asking where he gets off saying something like that, saying that she intends to go back and watch the game and leaves. Suou whispers to himself that the reason why is because Taichi has a bad teacher. Ah, sorry. Not a student. Not a student. ....just, Suou is so precious there. Other than that, these two chapters are pretty uneventful. The match is still in the early stages, they are pretty evenly matched so far, just one card difference between Taichi and Arata. Chihaya is struggling a bit with this reader, but, eh. Near the end, Harada is commenting that everyone has gathered here today to witness the three of them (I like how western female challenger is not even registering there). And once the day is over, the three will become 2 and 1.

Hi everyone Glad to see you again. Thanks to the kind users who made this place available as a temporary replacement for the MAL TAT. Hopefully our club will be restored soon. Meanwhile it's nice to have another place to gather and talk the latest news. Thank you so much iatheia for the many great updates! Your contributions are always so precious for the club and community. I'm a bit busy these days but will drop by later on to at least share a bit on the symbolism from these chaps. Btw congratulations Taichi on the well-deserved triumph in the poll. We worked hard on casting our votes daily and at the very end our hard work and Taichi's got to be rewarded at once ^^ See you guys soon Much love to the whole community.

Iatheia and Crimson chan, so glad you guys dropped in here as well! Thanks so much Iatheia for the raws and little summary......i might try to contact CG that the raws are here. And aaaaaaaw Suou thinks he's a bad teacher, gosh his lack of confidence makes me want to hug him.....i guess he still doesn't understand how important he was to Taichi taking him in at that specific moment when he was on the verge of letting everything go..... And yes MAL is fixing so slowly, we can at least see our profile now and communicate on the walls..... Btw this is from the fu'ny tweet where Sensei complained that she wasn't popular
