about la 3
in asianwiki theres a comment saying that she ended up with arata in la 3... it's bugging me... if it is true, will it be the same ending with the manga?
I just watched the movie and my heart is still beating fast! No words can describe how much the movie inclined to me. I wont be saying spoilers but I say see it for yourself and don’t let the comments or spoilers discourage you. There might be clues here and there for the coming chapters. I’d be happy to share my thoughts some time when it is a safe topic to discuss.

chiakimagoto cinema. There was a Japanese film festival from where I live and all the chihayafuru movies were part of it. I get to watch it for free and there were more people in the cinema than I expected. Their reactions were very funny, too. I’d rewatch it again and again once I can be able to download the movie online

Oh gosh how lucky! Looks like it was really nice, your heart beating fast, made me so curious.....alot of Taichi?
I keep popping in here, even if most of the discussions have gone back to MAL.....feel welcome over there as well if you like. This forum will stay open though, for safety.😊

I'm popping in to drop a suggestion... kimiko chan Why don't you share some thoughts of yours over the movie (you can use spoiler tags if needed, other spoilers have been posted there already in all safety via spoiler box) in this thread? myanimelist.net/forum/?topicid=1700696We would be overjoyed to read it! I'm looking forward to watching the movie even more after your comments ^^ and am particularly curious over this point of yours: "There might be clues here and there for the coming chapters."

I hope Suetsugu picks up on the fact that Chihaya got such a low number (despite being the main heroine). I really do hope she spends more time with her development, especially on the karuta side. After the random "super concentration" mode, then the z axis thing (which we never saw again), I'm really disappointed that we are again back to Chihaya's speed (sigh)! It annoys me that the boys get more consistency with their playing (Arata with water and Taichi being a trickster) than the main heroine herself. Anyone have any thoughts about why Chihaya is being compared to waves again and again, first by herself and now by Taichi with card 18? Her bubbly personality is a little bit like waves I guess, she never leaves anyone alone, but keeps coming back to them again and again, despite their refusal/nonchalance regarding karuta.
@kyriem chan - Lol I think its 18, but I could be wrong. In the raw version that I saw, there was a tiny 18 number in the card. That means its poem 18 right?
__
I think if Taichi shows her that card it has a few meanings but not necessarily dependent on the elemental symbolism. Probably it means that he's waiting for her: "the waves alone draw near"/"the waves are gathered"/"will you draw nigh like the waves" (depending on the translation) and the illustration is a man waiting on a beach. But it's also about waiting for a lover to appear in dreams, so I think it's ambiguous whether he means that he's waiting for her love or waiting for her to accomplish her dream, to become the Queen. He's saying, why aren't you showing up for your dreams? I also remember hearing that the Chihayafuru card was the poet hiding a confession of passionate love in a poem's scenery (the red maples in the river symbolizing it), so I wonder if it could be connected with the Su card's meaning as well, since it's also about hiding or not appearing in plain sight to your lover. (It occurred to me that in the match when Chihaya beats Arata, he sends her this card, 18, didn't he?) Doesn't Chihaya have a dream about her sister shortly after this? Any thoughts?

That's a nice way of seeing it: waiting for her to accomplish her dream. I saw the one of the man waiting on the beach as well. Whatever it may truely mean, Chihaya definitely got motivated by it and went on to win the match, so waiting for her to fullfill her dream seems right for her probably.....she always brings everything back to karuta....i wonder if she could even see a romantic message in it.....but because we never see her thoughts on this....it's not clear if she's just dense or just hiding her true feelings.

read the spoiler in the MAL.. i am so frustated to read it. if its true spoiler, waiting for 2 weeks it feels wasting my time which just to know that taichi lost 18 cards... it so huge different. iam so dissapointed if the result like that.

Yeah we are all so disappointed......a bit in denial, hoping it's a troll, but we never had that before.
I'm so sick and tired of Suetsugu's fangirling over Arata the karuta god. Taichi seems to always be the one who gets the short end.....

and.... the spoiler its true..what a dissapointed. i dont know wht suigetsu thinking about. its so irritated me. i think there is no point that taichi will be challenger in the next time. because in my POV, the culmination of their match (with arata) is right now. next time is not interested anymore....

Noe chan, I'm very much irked as well and I just lost my eagerness about the next coming chapters.....even the romance part feels so weak.....i hardly can get excited about that either. On the main forum we are having very depressing discussions...it's the card difference that really irks me....and I just can't seem to feel the friendship between Taichi and Arata. Well, let's just move on I guess.

Wow... what a weird/crappy chapter.. Yes, I've read all of your rants on MAL and I do share the same sentiments...
The friendship being pushed by the mangaka between Taichi and Arata here seems forced... I didn't feel the emotions the characters felt. I mean they are "friends" but not this crying hugging emo type where they felt one is actually apologizing for being an obstacle???
I mean .. come on!? I'd rather see Taichi being more antagonistic losing 18 cards??? Than accepting it like it was destined to happen anyway...
Well... I still love our guy... but 205 is still crappy for me😑... (*lurker mode on*)

BTW i did a google translate on the comments on Tiebaidu.........looks like the fans there are devasted as well............

Chiaki chan😭 Yeah, I did too😊 and was actually surprised and happy Taichi fans sharing the same "rage" and thoughts 😅 I honestly didn't look at the raws much. I just skimmed until I saw the crying and hugging Arata and Taichi... I just couldn't believe the direction the author planned for our guy... Even if I know that there's a possibility Taichi will lose ... him easily accepting defeat with a whooping 18 cards is just plain BS... but who knows we'll find him next chapter voicing out his real feelings... Ugh... I just couldn't relate with Arata... 🤔 I hope Suetsugu's magic will return on 206...
